About Janellen

A graduate of the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, Janellen Farmer has had a singing career that has taken her from Grand Opera to Jazz and everything in between. She has taught privately since 1988 and is currently on the faculty of voice at DeSales University, teaching mainly musical theater majors.

The studio is convenightly located off rte. 23 1.5 miles west of Valley Forge Park. We offer state of the art accompaniment along with access to some of the area's best pianists for recitals and coaching.

A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and The Voice Foundation, Janellen is also well versed.in vocal pedagogy having studied with some of the top pedagogues in the country. You voice is in good hands at the Studio!

I have tremendous passion for singing and love helping both beginners and established singers to discover their voices and the many ways in which they can share their gifts!

BA in English and Irish Studies, Villanova, included courses in Irish Music, and multiple Acting Classes.

My private studio has been in operation since 1988.

About the lesson

I love working with new students. Helping them to discover their voices and their potential is thrilling! We generally begin by working on the breath, reviewing for more experienced singers, and going back to basics novice singer. We then begin to sing appropriate vocalises to help build the instrument in terms of range, volume, focus and stamina.

Depending upon the student's personanal musical interests, we then choose repertoire that will help to build the instrument as well as be fun and inspiring to work on.
