About Katy
As a certified Voice Teacher/ Life Coach in the Broadway and Music Industries for the past 20 years, I offer a variety of services from vocal lessons, to acting coaching, to career strategy building with life coaching built into every lesson to help my students stay grounded, focused and happy. My goal is to help you discover, master, and cherish your unique voice to prepare yourself for the entertainment business from a space that is grounded, confident and FUN. During our lessons, I will help you master the vocal technique, confidence, and control it takes to sing all styles of music and become a master of your voice as the beautiful instrument it can be.
I am not a one size fits all teacher. I get to know each students individual needs and make sure each lesson is designed to work toward achieving their goals. I LOVE helping people overcome challenges, free their voices and their bodies, and learn the tools needed to make their dreams come true.
While I was performing I was always helping people. I found myself teaching songs, and helping my fellow castmates through confidence issues. Teaching was in my nature, and when I moved to NYC I studied under several voice teachers and began learning everything I could about the voice, eventually getting hired by the Broadway musical RENT to work with the actors that were having vocal health issues. Since then I have worked with over 30 Broadway shows and continue to be a positive influence as a voice teacher and life coach in that community.
I have been a professional performer for 40 years as a violinist, pianist, guitarist, singer, songwriter, actress, arranger, film composer, music director working on Broadway and performing on some of the biggest stages in NYC and around the world. I attended college for Musical Theater at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music and have been running my private voice studio in NYC for 20 years working with Broadway and music industry professionals of all ages

I love to get to know each student to learn about what they hope to achieve from lessons and come up with a plan together of how to reach those goals. My lessons are not one size fits all - I make sure to tailor every lesson to the individual student's needs and challenges.
I have worked with every type of student that exists. From people who think they're tone-deaf and are afraid to sing, to children and teens in the US and around the globe, to professional recording artists, to Broadway and TV/Film stars.
Voice lessons are like dating in the sense that you need to find a teacher that is the right fit for your personal needs. I teach from a space of empathy, compassion, patience, and skill and always make sure that, while my students work hard and grow, they are always doing it from a space of love and confidence.
I had the privilege of coaching one of my students on the Voice, as well as one of my students on the tv show Fosse/Verdon. Both were such a beautiful process watching my students face their fears and rise above them to succeed and shine.

Details
I offer hourly professional voice lessons for $120/hour and half-hour lessons for $60/hour. With these lessons, I provide piano accompaniments for all songs as well as sheet music in addition to working on technique, as well as performance skills. Every lesson is individually tailored to you and your needs. For those looking to study on a regular basis, I offer money-saving bulk lesson packages of $450 for 4 lessons, $850 for 8 lessons, and $1350 for 12 lessons.
