About Alyssa
Care, Confidence, and Connect is my motto! I offer a combination of traditional and contemporary teaching techniques to help an individual grow as a singer and a performer. I also work with an individual on what they want to sing rather than what I want to assign them! Every lesson is tailored differently for each individual.
I love to get to know new people and to see them grow in confidence with singing, performing, and as their own unique person.
When I took a course about vocal pedagogy I was assigned three individuals to practice giving voice lessons with. I fell in love with it after I worked with my first student.
I graduated in the Spring of 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from MNSU, Mankato, and have been giving lessons throughout my time at school.

The first lesson starts with me asking a few questions about your personal interests and goals. Next we talk about the basics of singing, and begin warm-ups so that I can hear your voice. Every individual will warm-up differently depending on their range and skill level!
I have worked with all ages. From 5 to 60. Both male and female. They all have had different goals and had sung different styles of music.
I would reccommend talking to other individuals who have worked with this teacher and finding out if they are good at what they know. Also ask the teacher themself about their past students. It is important to know if they care about their students for more than just their musical achievements.
I love when there is local music around town. I encourage a lot of people, both students and non-students, to come sing at open mics with me!

Details
My regular rate is $18 for 30 minutes and $32 for an hour. I have a special college student discount for those in that stage of life.
