About Anna

Anna Pflieger, dramatic mezzo-soprano, is an award-winning vocal artist recognized for her arresting vocal timbre and bold stage presence.

Ms. Pflieger’s most recent engagements include: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 Alto Soloist, LAKMA Symphony Walt Disney Concert Hall, Pacific Lyric Association title role debut as Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen, Mozart’s Requiem Alto Soloist, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater Alto Soloist, 2021 Opera West! debut as The Mother in Puccini's Madama Butterfly (Suzuki Cover), 2020 VOPA debut as Marthe in Gounod’s Faust, 2020 Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 Alto Soloist with California State University Northridge, 2019 Landmark Opera Company debut as Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata (Annina Cover).

Ms. Pflieger’s recent honors include: Semi-finalist for the 2021 Palm Springs Opera Guild Vocal Competition, finalist and encouragement award recipient for the 2020 Mentoris Voice Vocal Competition, Western Region semi-finalist and encouragement award recipient for the 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, finalist in 2019 Burbank Philharmonic Hennings-Fischer Young Artist Competition, a five-time recipient of The Opera Buffs Inc., Artist Grant Award and recipient of the Bell T. Ritchie Award, second place 2017, first place 2019.

Ms. Pflieger is an alumnus of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Pepperdine University, International Lyric Academy of Rome and Idyllwild Arts Academy. She currently prepares roles under the guidance of Claudine Carlson, mezzo-soprano. She particularly enjoys singing the works of Verdi, Strauss, Tchaikovsky and Wagner and looks forward to embracing this repertoire for years to come.

Anna Pflieger is based in Los Angeles and is available for engagements worldwide.

I began teaching voice and piano for a local music school while in college. Witnessing my students progress and success inspired me to continue teaching. My present studio is comprised of passionate musicians, many of whom have been accepted with scholarships to teir 1 universities and conservatories for music.

About the lesson

Every lesson is customized to my students needs and passoions. A typical lesson will be evenly divided between technical work and repertoire coaching.

Beginner-Professional. I also offer customized lessons for students with learning differences and those on the autism spectrum.

That the instructor is qualified and has a strong pedagoic background in order to teach healthy sound production and is familiar with your technical style i.e. opera, musical theatre etc. Classical voice students must also seek instructors with advanced knowlege in romantic foreign languages as the repertoire is typically produced in a foreign language. Classical instructors must have working knowledge of english and foreign diction (i.e. IPA).

I am thrilled to share that I will be making my Walt Disney Concert Hall debut this summer as the Alto Soloist in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.
