About Sharon
Sharon Owens has been professionally singing and performing for 30 years. Throughout her career as a professional singer and actress, Sharon has always given back by teaching what she has learned throughout her career. Sharon has a BA in Vocal Performance and credentialed in Music Education although she is a fulltime professional singer at this time. "Singing is also an acting job" says Sharon. "Learning the technical aspects of singing is important of course but I believe each voice is so different that vocal lessons with any coach takes on an individual experience. Everyone's voice is different so learning how to sing is a personal journey." There is no wrong or right way to your own personal style. Learning how to "let go" is one of Sharon's secret to vocal coaching.

I enjoy watching each student become more and more confident after each lesson. Vocal coaching is just as fun for me as it is for the student. I get excited when a student's vocals improve!
Sharon Owens has been a vocal coach for 30 years. I do not have a large number of students for I travel quite frequently. I prefer online vocal lessons but I do have a studio on Hudson Florida.
I am a professional singer. We will concentrate on technique although I emphasize the importance of experience and what you are feeling while your sing rather than only technical aspects.

We will begin by discussing your singing goals. Sharon will listen to your vocal range. We will discuss what influences your singing style.
My students usually sing Musical Theater, Pop and Jazz. I have taught many young students and prepared them for broadway auditions. ( and they got the role! )
I've prepared students for their auditions on The Voice and American Idol. ( a few made the show! )
My advice for choosing a vocal coach would be:
1. Are you becoming a better more confident singer after each lesson.
2. Can you feel and hear the difference in your vocals during and after each lesson?
Recently one of my students received a FULL 4 year scholarship for Vocal Music at Miami State AND Oklahoma State! She is choosing which college !

Sharon has taught my daughter so much more than just how to sing. She builds confidence. I've watched my daughter change into a performer as well as a great singer.
Working with Sharon was a dream ! She inspires young talent and is extremely professional.
