About Reid

As a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon's Vocal Performance degree program I have a unique insight into what is expected of singers in the professional world. With knowledge of; Standard Performance Practice, Classical Vocal terchnique, Stage craft, Diction, and Interpretation I can identify my students weaknesses and strengths and provide a customized lesson plan to acheive student specified goals.

Qulifications:

BFA in Vocal performance from Carnegie Mellon University

2nd place finalist in "Golden Voices of America" 2014

Performed at Carnegie Hall with the American Youth choir

Experience with French, German, and Italian

I began to formally teach recently, however I have been tutoring my peers in music theory, language, and diction classes since 2013. I have many years of critical listening experience and have helped my peers grow through constructive critisicm and technical advice.

I recieved a BFA in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Melon University in 2017. My education consisted of languages, diction, music theory, stage craft, acting, movement and dance, Vocal technique, and piano.

I have worked professionally with choirs, churches, and schools for several years and am continuing to work in the professional field of music.

About the lesson

Students I have worked with have ranged from 6 years old to 25. Typically the student has sought to improve their singing and to posses a greater understanding of what they can do with their voice. Student levels have ranged from begginner to intermediate.

I would highly advise a student to find a teacher that really cares about what it is that you want from singing. Whether its about getting to a professional level or getting a part in a school musical the student must be explicit in what their goals are and the teacher must be receptive to the students goal.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is it that you want from singing?

Are you looking to develope a career, a hobby, a passion, or an understanding?
