About Cilica

Vocal Technician & Coach with 3 decades of experience.

I am honoured to work with singers in good health as well as those who have physical (illness, accidents, chronic pain) or physiological (anxiety, emotional angst, trauma) challenges. I am adept at problem-solving vocal production and presentation challenges from a holistic and intuitive approach.

Regardless of the challenges or the length of time it has persisted, I find solutions. I look forwards to working with you through Skype.

I discovered at an early age I had the gift of teaching. I hear what is said and not said which is where I draw out the best of each singer.

SFU, BA Music Composition & Contemporary Voice. UBC - Voice & Music Courses. Classically trained as a Mezzo-Soprano. Sang in various Choirs in Europe and taken numerous yoga therapy courses in anatomy, kinesiology and structure in Canada, India, and Europe.

Studied mantras and chants in India and at Buddhist temples for over 40 years.

Research of voice production, presentation and more with healthy participants and those with health issues.

Train in several forms of meditation and mindfulness.

About the lesson

Each client is different with varying abilities and intent. As an expert in vocal production with 3 decades of experience, I found each student is an individual. I have no typical process.

I work from a holistic perspective that understands the harmonising of the singer's vocal instrument/physical, mindfulness and vocal production with their musical knowledge, talent and drive.

Students do not need to have musical training, read music or have sung a note previously. What the student does need is a desire to achieve wonderful results and a willingness try.

Students with musical backgrounds are encouraged to push their boundaries, and grow musically.

I teach singers from all backgrounds, abilities, and genres.

Regardless of your abilities, experience and knowledge, there is a teacher for you.

Details

4 monthly lessons are for amateur and professional child & adult: e-mail lessons begin at $220, skype amateur $320, and professional $480. Persons with great need or special needs may apply for a 20% discount.

All lessons include ear training, musicality and presentation / performance skills, how to best use their instrument and their genre of singing. This includes children whose lessons are a minimum of 50 minutes.
