About Guy

We are different as our creation of positive learning environments causes you greater success in your firearm learning goals. It takes a lot of trust to absorb the information you want, we understand that.

We really enjoy, and feel that it is a privelage, to help students overcome the obstecles and achieve the ability and knowlege they know they are responsible to have.

I happened to witness a criminal escapeing from a crime scene. Park rangers and law enforcement had the access road back into town cordoned off when I was returning from out on the land where I regulary go for walks... To make a long story short - the local DA wanted me to be prepared to coroborate the identification of the escape vehicle, and my step pop had the idea I might want to get a concealed carry permit on account of the bad guys might get angry at me. I knew a fair bit about pistol but did learn a lot when I got my permit. The group asked me to teach with them and I did for two years and then developmend a new program called Elephant Mountain Firearm Training. As the trial unfolded, the DA said that the vehicle ID was not disputed and so I was not called to testify. The criminal did end up getting about 323 years behind bars as a sentence.

Our group is all certified, insured and experienced.

I am certified as a program director through the National Rifle Association - Training Couselor rating. This certifies me to certify new instructors and I do so regularly in both Rifle and Pistol. I am also a Regional Counselor of Refuse To Be A Victim Program and certify new instructors to teach these great seminars! i do these things on the side - I am a business consultant for my main work.

About the lesson

We have many options from which students may select! Variety is the spice of life and in gun training it is very important that the environment is safe and feels right. We teach many classes that go on throughout the year from our FREE montly Refuse To Be A Victim course, to our DPR - Defensive Pistol Refresher. We also offer custom classes to suit student scenarios.

My wife teaches with me as do several volunteers. We have worked with hundreds of students of all types. We have also certified a lot of new firearms instructors.

Hiring an instructor in firearms is a challenging task. One reason we regularly put on the FREE!! Refuse To Be A Victim Seminar, is so people who may feel a bit shy, or who are particular about who they will learn from, may come and secretly check us out without us even knowing!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It will help you to clearly identify your goals. The right to self-defense is potent and guns are a very special type of tool. Think through your reasons and objectives. We have a variety of guns that we let people try - Don't just go out and buy a new gun without the benefit of knowledge that will help you select one that is right for you. Gun-fit is challenging for many hand types and sizes.
