About Skip

Clear Target is led by Skip a NRA Instructor. Your NRA certified course includes class time and range time. The NRA expects you to score 16 out of 20 shots, and none of my students have failed. You will be given a test at the end of the class. Test is more about testing me than you.

Safety is our number one priority! You will learn stance, grip, sight control, trigger control, follow through, how to clean your firearm and how to store it, especially when children are around.

The completion of this course fulfills the state of Florida Concealed Carry requirements.

I am a part of the movement to preserve the second Amendment of the Constitution and to provide people with the necessary training to safely exercise this right.

Somehow I have developed firearm teaching techniques at the range. People would ask me to observe and help them with their shooting skills.

I have had my NRA Training liscence since 1989 and recently went for training up dates. I was in the US Navy and assigned to the landing forces. Here I was assigned and trained with a M1 carbine.

After service I began competitive shooting with black powder rifles winning many awards.

Now I shoot at the range and train others to safely shoot.

About the lesson

First of all my students must be 21 years old and a U S citizen.

New students need to unlearn bad habits they gleened from previous gun use, tv and movies.

i show patience and a calm attitude all the while keeping a sharp eye on the student and the firearm.

I have found that women make the best students. Sorry guys the ladies don’t have as many bad habits..

students come from all walks of life, teachers, laborers, nurses, retired, just every day people.
