About Delia

D’embury Customs is a made to measure atlier that provides custom fit apparel, home decor and more. D’embury aslo extends lessons to those willing to pick up a craft and to take on interns that would love to experience the one on one relationship with customers in creating pieces of their dreams.

I enjoy bringing a clients ideas to life. I also enjoy receiving willing creative minds who would love to learn a trade. Watching them grasp a technical concept in design is a great experience.

I taught sewing lessons since I was in high school. I would teach to those interested in my church and give additional lessons to classmates while I was in school.

I currently teach interns as apart of my business to assist with their school credits.

I’ve completed 5 levels of a Fashion Design program during highschool where I learned the basics of garment construction and performing alterations.

Each year provided a more difficult garment to create and understand the technical rules and processes.

I continued my education and training in college, receiving a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Fashion Design.

I gained insight in the fashion industry. Creating garments from dress form and translating for and fall to a live model was a key element in creating custom garment for clients.

I participated backstage in multiple fashion shows and took part in fittings for personal garments showecased in Miami fashion week.

I learned concepts in creating garments with different materials and acquired the skills in draping and pattern making.

About the lesson

I usually start my lessons with a diagnostic sewing practice text to see the level of where to start a student.

From there, I can provide an outline of what I will be teaching and use practice garments and materials to give them a real world learning experience.

I’ve worked with children and young adults interested in picking up a craft. I often teach young adults interning to receive internship college credits.

There was a time I was working on a garment with client and they were interested in learning the process of a welt pocket.

After giving them a couple lessons on the steps and basic concept of that particular style pocket. I often go to them to get it done for me!

Details

My lessons usually run $75 for the hour and $10 any additional hour.

My pricing increases once lessons goes into couture (hand sewing) and bespoke garments. $120 for and hour and a half and $10 each additional hour.
