About Alauna

As an experienced designer/seamstress and long-time fashion business owner, Alauna, also known as "LaLa" has learned the ups and downs of the fashion industry. She got her start in business through competing in National Entrepreneurship competitions throughout her youth. The product was always fashion, specifically figure skating costumes. Preparation for winning the national competition included in-depth mentor consulting with business experts. This meant writing and tweaking the same business plan over 4 years! This process provided the training wheels for LaLa to start a real business on her own. Soon after she became the youngest minority business owner in the Historic area of Downtown Naperville and also quickly became esteemed in the media for her ambitions. Since then she has free- lanced for other brands and now does the cut & sew at Chasseur as well as branding and marketing.

I absolutely love the entire process from start to finish. From having an idea, to getting the fabric picking or making a pattern and bringing it to life, the and design and construction processes are my favorite processes in life!

I also have a passion for learning, teaching and sharing knowledge. Teaching sewing lessons are the perfect way to share knowledge on the subject I know most about!

About the lesson

Our first lesson is always consultative. We will talk about your background with sewing, level of comfort and assess your goals and where you would like to go with your new found skill. Whether it is just a hobby or you want to make a profession out of it, II can help either way.

My company any also has a creative consulting aspect where we can hep you launch your idea and get started in the fashion industry. Since my partner and I have been in the industry for over 20 years, we know the ins and outs of starting and creating a line and can help you do the same without wasting some precious time and energy. I can’t guarantee that you will be successful, but I can definitely provide the tools and guidance to do so.
