About Malissa
I generally teach one on one in students home so they learn to use their space.
I enjoy exploring textiles and leaning new ways to apply techniques. I like seen a childlike quality in my sutudents when thay learn something new and create someing with their own hands.
Someone asked me to teach them, then a friend had me teach at her sewing school.
I been sewing my entire life. I have a degree from Sam Houston State University in Fashion Merchandising and took ever sewing class they had sewing 1 and 2, tailoring, and flat pattern making. College cleaned up my sewing, but I still know how to get messy and when it's appropriate.

from 9 year old kids to older adults. I've worked with all ages and experience levels. Be it teaching the basics, developing product, or implimenting production practices.
Don't hold back, ask multiple questions, most stitchers have trouble putting what they are doing into words. Teachers want to tech you how to do something but there are multiple ways to get from point A to point B.
BWAM (Bags We All Make) an event I host at Maker Faire. Watching kids take part and moms help there daughters is encouraging.
