About Tina

I specialize in making quilts from sentimental items and would love to teach others to do the same!

I have taught several sewists through the years, but mainly on an as needed basis. The thought of strictly focusing on teaching as a class has been tucked in my mind for years, although I haven't ever been "hired" to share my knowlege.

I have been sewing for years. I made my own dresses for church when I was young and now I focus on quilting. It makes my heart happy to put love and time into a piece and I pray the recipient feels the care in every stitch

About the lesson

I want to know what you want to create and just be able to encourage you and guide you on the way!

I've encouraged all ages to sew.

Be willing to make mistakes, that is how you learn! I can't express this strongly enough. I tended to feel like a perfectionist when I was seriously starting to sell my work. I have embraced being perfectly imperfect as my style now! I still ant to continue to learn and share what I've learned with others.

My fondest event was when I was considered to "pitch" my effort of quilting to the today show. The network contacted me from a clip I sent of the charity group I help lead to see if I could compete for funding for the group. Just getting the call spurred my dreams forward. I didn't go the New York, but it didn't matter. The joy of someone else seeing the passion of why the members of my group and I was so exciting!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
If I were a student considering being taught, I'm sure I'd worry I wasn't good enough or that my work wasn't good enough. Whomever would teach me, I'd hope would be patient and hopefully teach with humor. As a teacher, I'd hope to be like that.

I have dreamed of teaching others to sew and to have the same passion as I do with fiber arts. My system is not really structured, but more teachingt at a pace that the student is comfortable and a excited to learn more.
