I started by teaching group classes for Quality Sewing and Vacuum, and then continued doing private lessons after I stopped working there.

I have been sewing for about 14 years, have a minor in costume design, and have worked in costuming at universities, professional theatres, and theme parks. I also taught sewing when I worked at Quality Sewing & Vacuum.

About the lesson

It depends on your sewing experience. For someone sewing for the first time, we first go over how to use the machine. Then, we create a sewing sampler, using all the basic stitches, sewing in a straight line, creating a curved seam, buttonhole, etc. Then we will move on to basic projects, such as tote bags or pillowcases, before graduating to reading and using patterns.

If you are working on a specific project, it will vary depending on the project and what you need help with.

All types! Children through adults, of all levels.

$45 for a one-hour lesson within about 15 minutes of Auburn, WA. (Extra fee for farther areas - just ask)
+$15/hr for teacher-provided sewing machine.
