Jim is no weekend warrior - he has worked with a sudio of private students for almost two decades. Music is his passion and livelihood, and he persues learning in a fun and accesalbe way. He wants to know what you want to learn, and will tailor-fit your syllabus and lesson plan directly to you. Jim has a Masters in Jazz Performance from NYU, and a Bachelor's in Music Performance (jazz and classical) from the University of Wisconsin.

For Jim, music isn't meant to be something for the elite few, it's supposed to be for everyone! He has provided instruction to all levels - from elementary school, to college music majors, to those finding an instrument for the first time as aduts. Anyone can find joy in the study of music.

About the lesson

Saxophone lessons offered by James are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Brooklyn. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.

I've had a lot of music teachers and saxophone teachers that all tried to get me to play the way they wanted me to play, and I've hated it. What's great about Jim is that he really allows you to play like yourself and he just facilitates that and acts as a catalyst. He also plays with a lot of top tier musicians in NYC so you know the information you get is coming straight from the source. I would credit Jim a lot with where I'm at as a musician and with my acceptance into the programs I'm in.

P.S. Jim actually practices what he preaches. If you want a great teacher, learn from the guy who does the thing you want to do.
