About Nick
The idea for Learn2Study came about when the pandemic hit and many schools started to do online schooling.
I have a bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies education from the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State.) What I noticed is that many students are being taught how to take tests and as soon as that exam is over the knowledge is gone. They do not effectively learn how to study and prepare where they retain the information. That is where Learn2Study came about. Not only helping your student raise their grades but eventually learn how to study where supplemental help will no longer be necessary.
When I transitioned from High School to College I noticed many of my friends who excelled in High School were struggling in College because they never needed to study and had no idea how to do it. My goal is to take a student to the point where they no longer need my service. Despite how counter intuitive to business this sounds I am truly interested in helping students grow and learn to use study techniques on their own in the future and in other subjects.
Tutoring is a more effective way for me to reach a student and help them to achieve their goals.
Sometimes in a classroom atmosphere you don't necessarily get to see the progress of your studentst. Getting to have a more direct impact on a student is more rewarding.

In an initial session I would spend about half of it getting to know the student. Building rapport with a potential student is extremely important to find out what motivates them.
Younger students I will typically ask them what they like and dislike about school, what their favorite class is, and a few of the most interesting things that a teacher has done with them. This will allow me to better identify how that child learns.
With older students I do a more direct approach. I like them to identify what they feel their strengths and their weeknesses are. I will also ask them the same questions regarding their likes and dislikes.
Any third party input from current/previous teachers and the student's parents are always welcome and considered.
