About Lilia

I have a Bachelor's degree in History from The Evergreen State College and I am working on earning a Master's degree in (secondary) Education from Whitworth University. I have 3 years of first hand experience teaching in high school classrooms.

I have a genuine passion for history and I want to help you/your child gain a better and more complete understanding of the subject!

I love seeing others get excited about learning growing their interest in history and real aged subjects. I enjoy being a support system to students who may not otherwise have one. I am passionate about expressing my passion for history and helping students understand the subject.

I started teaching while still in high school through a peer led education program. This program provided me with in depth training and hands-on teaching experiences.

I have 3 years of training and experience in a variety of high school classrooms; this includes classroom management, focusing techniques, and basic educational training. I also have a degree in history, which has provided me with the information necessary to support you/your child in their quest to study history.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, the first step I take is to make a connection. I find that when a teacher/tutor expresses a genuine respect and interest in the student and their learning, there is more success.

I specialize in working with middle school and high school students, and my educational focus has been on world and U.S. history, which includes anthropology, religious studies, social studies, and political science.
