About Christina
Hello! My name is Ms. Circelli and I have been teaching Reading and Math in both the Regular Education and Special Education classrooms for 7 years.
I first obtained my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2014 and my Masters Degree in Special Education in 2020. I love to create fun and innovative ways to teach math and reading skills to my students. I also enjoy creating new products and learning materials. I have always had a lifelong passion for learning and love to instill that same feeling in my students.
I have always had a lifelong love of learning. However, what really made me want to be a teacher was my English teacher in High School was teaching us in different ways besides talking and making us take notes; she really showed a love for it. That is when it kind of hit me: "I want to do that too."

When I get a new student, I like to have them fill out an "All About Me" sheet. I have them answer simple questions such as "full name", "favorite color", "favorite food", etc. I also like to get some picture of how they feel about school, such as asking what there favorite subject is and why and the same for least favorite subject. This allows me to put together a snapshot of the student.
I have worked with many different types of students. Some of the types I have worked with include:
-Students on the Autism Spectrum (mild to severe)
-Students with ADHD
-Students with ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder)
-Students with Emotional Behavioral Disorder
-Students with Academic Needs (Full IEP/Special Ed students)
-ELL students
-General Education students (prek to 4th)
My advice would be to allow yourself to keep an open mind and go into any tutoring session with a "ready to learn" mindset. Also, go with your gut. If you feel like someone will be a right match for you then go for it. If not, that is okay and keep on trying.
In my current school we teach the students about filing someone's bucket; this means to do and say things that can make other people happy. I had a former student of mine walk to my office and give me a bucket filler. It said, "I want to fill your bucket because I love you and thank you for teaching me." I cried because it was so happy and made me feel great for leaving a lasting impression on that student.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
