About Rebecca
I have been an educator for 21 years. I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade and am currently a K-2 Title I Reading Specialist. I am certified K-6 and have a Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy. I started my virtual tutoring company the summer of 2022. It has been well received by the community I reside in as well as surrounding communities. I also have three out of state students. My lessons are custom designed for each student. The following are examples of what the components are in each lesson based on the student's individual needs: letters and sounds, phonemic awareness, segmenting and blending, sight words, writing, fluency, accuracy and comprehension. My current lesson framework is for 30 minute sessions but am open to 1 hour sessions. My new Facebook page has just been created: Ready to Read K-4 Virtual Tutoring
Currently, I am tutoring virtually with 1st - 5th grade students. The structure of my lessons last for 30 minutes. I enjoy systematically teaching my students using researched based methods while helping them take ownership in their learning! They are so excited when their graph goes up and it is wonderful to see their confidence build. Giving them the "tools" to become life long readers is priceless!

✔️Model the structure of the lesson so the student will know what to expect.
✔️Build in a two minute break in the middle of each lesson so the child can share their favorite toy or show you their pet or even draw you a picture. They LOVE this break time and work really hard for it!
