About Savanah
Hi, I'm Savanah and I am born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado. I am a teacher at an elementary school and I have been teaching for almost 7 years. Teaching is one of my greatest passions! I like to make my lessons fun and engaging, sometimes you may even catch me making up a silly chant or song to go along with the materials. I have had some fantastic teachers in the past that have inspired me to make learning fun and accessible for students at all learning abilities and levels. I am currently working on receiving my Master's Degree in Instructional Technology in Elementary Education.
I have worked in many different positions in education. I was a substitute teacher for a few years for grades K-8 before moving into a full-time position. I have also worked as a para in both traditional and SPED classrooms. Also, I worked as a Preschool teacher for a year at a corporate school before moving into my current teaching position at a public elementary school. At my current school, I have worked as a 3rd Grade teacher and the Reading Interventionist and Enrichment teacher.
I love working with children and watching their knowledge and confidence grow. My favorite part of teaching, outside of making great relationships with my students, is seeing them have the "ah-ha" moments when something they are working on finally clicks. When students have confidence in their learning and in themselves, their opportunities are endless!
I have always wanted to be a teacher since I volunteered in a classroom while I was in high school. I feel in love with working with children and being able to see the "ah-ha" moments they have when they understand a topic or subject.
I completed my Bachelor's degree at one of the top education programs in Colorado, and I am currently in a program to receive my Master's degree in education as well.

I first want to get to know my students and make them feel comfortable working with me. I like to do some fun icebreaker activities before diving into our lessons.
I have worked with students at all ability levels and in grades from Preschool to 5th grade.
