About Daria
As a psychology student finishing my senior year at Portland State University I have aquired significant experience, methods, and resources to help students maximize success in reading, spelling, focus, and organization—each requiring a unique teaching process. Reading, vocabulary, and spelling, for example, are improved through exploration of literature, vocabulary collection, and highly effective spelling exercises. Additionally, my work in psychology has equipped me to effectively serve students with learning challenges including AD(H)D, executive function, and others.
I know how it feels to want to learn but without the quality resources needed. Therefore, I enjoy helping children achieve understanding in a stress-free, mentoring fashion.

Once a student or parent invited initial communication, I suggest a free "get acquainted" meeting via zoom to discuss all student needs, schedules, and fees, and to answer any questions. When both parties agree we are a good fit for one another, then we can commence scheduling the first session.
I typically work with younger students between the ages of 5-10 years old.
Effective teaching requires passion. I would recommend hiring those who are passionate about what they do. Learning can be repetitive, so it is important for students to enjoy the process and click well with their tutor.
