About Caleb

I am a recent graduate with a bachelor's in Physics from a four year institution. I love to help students understand and get excited about the subjects that I am most passionate about.

As a recent graduate, I am familiar with the common pitfalls and misunderstandings that high school and college students often have when it comes to math and science and I would love to work together to find a solution that works for you.

I try to put myself in the shoes of my students, which is easy since I was a student a few short years ago. I love solving puzzles and problems and it's even better when I get to help someone else do that too.

I started teaching in college, I worked for the Physics department as a lab assistant. Each week I would attend lab with underclassmen and help them work through the assignments and experiements they were assigned for that week.

Since the pandemic, some of the labs were taught online so I also gained experience teaching through that medium.

I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Physics with minors in Astronomy and Computer Science. I have experience teaching students in a lab environment and during online tutoring.

I have been working professionally as an engineer for almost a year and I use math, physics, and coding in my day-to-day life.

About the lesson

I'll always start out with a free-of-charge meeting to discuss the student's needs and my expertise, our schedules, and payment options to see if we are a good fit.

During the first tutoring session I like to talk about the class specifics - homework assignments, exam schedule, and the things the student is struggling most with.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I always like to start by talking about specific examples that students are unsure about. Once we talk about those it's a lot easier to get more at the root of the misunderstanding.

Details

I charge $25/hour of tutoring up to 3 hours a week for most sessions. Extra weekly hours and hours that don't generally fit my schedule may still be offered but I negotiate those on a case-by-case basis with the student and/or parent.
