About Carla

My service stands out with my passion for music -piano in particular & my positive, cheerful & enthusiastic personality. I try to listen to the goals & desires of each student & guide them from there through my expertise.

I studied piano for 18 years & have been teaching for 30 years I have my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Webster University. I teach in the Chesterfield area - all ages & levels ages 5 years old & up, beginner to advanced level. Please visit my website for more info. (concealed information)

I have videos of students of various levels playing so you can get an idea of the levels I teach. I have testimonies from long time students & my studio policy is also on there.

You can also email me at (concealed information)

I look forward to hearing from you! 🎶🎹

I really enjoy watching & hearing each student grow musically - To remind a student of where they started & have them see just how far they’ve come. I enjoy the analytical side of discovering what the music is saying - what is the mood of each piece? What story is the music trying to tell us when we play? The more we understand who the composer was, what the story of each piece is - the more we can connect to the music & make it come to life off of the page. That’s my favorite part - seeing the student connect with the piece & causing the listener to feel what they feel. That moment of goosebumps from beautifully played piano music - those are the best moments. I don’t expect my students to love piano as much as I do, or become a concert pianist or anything close - I do hope that I inspire a love & personal enjoyment for music & playing piano with each of my students.

I started teaching private piano when I was 19 as a substitute teacher for my former piano teacher when she was on vacation. I knew instantly teaching piano was what I wanted to do for a living.

Besides taking formal piano lessons for 18 years I also have my degree in music in piano performance from Webster University
