Dr. Xiao is an excellent teacher who has far exceeded my expectations. I am a recent retiree who wants to learn to play the piano and learn music theory. I chose Dr. Xiao because he is highly qualified with a doctorate in piano from the Peabody school and he offered piano lessons with music theory. I have been taking lessons with him for eight months now and I can attest that not only is he able to teach the technical aspects of piano playing but he is a very patient with and supportive of his students (which I need). He uses standard piano books for his lessons but has been willing to work with me on music I have brought to him and he has gone out of his way to support my interest in learning music theory. I would highly recommend him to beginners like me who are serious about learning to play the piano and also more advanced students who are trying to improve their playing.
