About Doug

After decades of teaching piano and voice and ten years spent in the high school classroom teaching general and choral music, I still love working with students individually to nourish and enrich their lives with music. With great enthusiasm and joy, I easily share my love of music to teach anyone to enjoy singing "pop" music or playing any genre -- classical to pop -- on the piano, at every level. I have a master's degree in Music Education and have owned a company that provides live music for private and corporate events for over twenty-five years. Check it (concealed information) and then let's start exploring your musical journey together. I'm comfortable teaching students of every age, from five to forever. Let's get started!

I love watching the learning process unfold. From the earliest moments of meeting a student and discovering what he or she wants to get out of having more music in his or her life to every milestone achieved during the journey of studying music, there are so many unparalleled joys. Music uplifts every spirit. I love sharing that with my students and helping them find the music inside themselves.

Doug has been giving me voice lessons for the past two years. I always wanted to sing and was afraid but Doug made it so easy for me to “come out of my shell.” English is my second language so Doug has gone out of his way to learn some Italian songs and I love singing them as well as contemporary hits. He’s an amazing person and has so much energy! He’s a lot of fun and he makes lessons so enjoyable! I always look forward to our weekly lessons!

Doug Winters is a phenomenal musician and a great teacher. He taught my three children piano for eight years. He's wonderful with children of all ages and a total pro. He's highly expert, enthusiastic, full of great stories of working with all kinds of famous musicians and lots of fun. He pours his heart into every lesson. My kids were never bored. Two of them are highly accomplished pianists at college. If you have further questions or are seeking more personal recommendations, please don't hesitate to write me at Isabellewarner46@yahoo.com.
