About Kristyn

Hello! Are you wanting to learn to play the piano? Did you take lessons as a child and want to brush up on your skills? Are you looking for Vocal Coaching sessions? Musical Theatre Audition Prep? Music Theory Tutoring? Foreign language help? I would love to work with you!

I create individualized curriculum depending on each student's needs and goals, and offer a clear lesson plan on how to reach their goals each week! I believe in a patient, engaging, and welcoming approach to teaching. Students should finish each lesson feeling inspired and motivated, not discouraged. Music has brought so much joy and peace into my life, and I hope it will do the same for you!

I currently offer Online lessons anywhere in the United States, and in-person for students based in Baton Rouge, LA.

-Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from San Jose State University

-Studied with Dr. Gwendolyn Mok, Dr. Namik Sultanov and Dr. Terrance Rust

-Member of Music Teachers Association of California

About the lesson

I teach students how to read music- not only how to intrept the notes and rhythms on the page, but how they can have an emotional connection with the music in order to bring it to life. I do not expect perfection from myself students, because absolute perfection is impossible, (I do not wish to produce robots of techinical mastery and no musicality) but I expect them to do their best! I also take time during each lesson to incorporate music theory, ear training, and sight reading practice, as these are all important factors of learning an instrument!

$35 for 30 min lessons

$52.50 for 45 min lessons

$70 for 1 hour.

If I am traveling more then 15 miles to your home, I may charge $5-$10 for gas/travel expenses.
