About Janene

Hi,

Thank you for contacting me about voice lessons. I was a voice major in college and also teach piano, guitar and ukelele, having almost 50 years teaching experience in schools, church groups and my private studio. My teaching focuses on your interests and style, although I do of course have some methodology I have everyone work on. You can expect vocal warmups, breathing workouts, sightreading, harmonization, learning to phrase, diction etc. I see you mentioned musical theater which I really enjoy. My daughter had leads in musicals in a Kansas City youth theater program, St Joseph Robidoux Resident Theatre and MWSU, so we had a lot of fun. You can see what my students have been doing on Facebook - Songs4Students (Janene Eich Collins Music Studio).

Thank you for contacting me about online piano lessons. I have a home studio and some online students and have been teaching 50 years, especially liking working with beginners.

I use the Wunderkeys method and supplement with a variety of other resources. You can earn prizes through your accomplishments. Currently, I use Facebook messenger for lessons and Venmo for payment. You’ll probably need to purchase a stand (about $20) for your device when using messenger to enable you to give me a view of the keys and your fingers on the keys. If you have Facebook you could search Songs4Students (Janene Eich Collins Music Studio) and see what my students have been doing.
