About Jenny

Hi, I'm Jenny.

I offer piano lessons at your home.I have 9 years of experience in teaching children, teenagers, and adults at various levels with different needs. My teaching style is classical where playing piano is not only about fingers, but also finesse. Building a classical foundation is necessary regardless of which genre of music you wish to play.

I'm committed to my students' progress. I define "progress" as developing the student's ability to recognize and convey the structure and character of the music; to read new music with minimal assistance; and to set small goals for daily practice. With me, you will learn that you can never be "done" or "bored" with the piece or song that you're working on. Upon analyzing, even the simplest songs can be broken into several motifs and characters. Moving onto the next piece or song does not negate the need for improvement. One of my goals is to help you understand that while we are not perfect ourselves, we must always strive for perfection.

My degrees are specifically in Piano Performance from UT-Austin (Master of Music) and Texas State University (Bachelor of Music). I have given many solo recitals and have won competitions. Most notably, I performed with Christopher O'Riley from NPR's From the Top for a live recording.
