About Jessica
Hello!
I have been an active musician since I was 4 years old. I knew from a young age that music was my biggest passion and fell in love with getting to create beauty with sound. I have a bachelor's and Masters in music composition and studied flute, violin, and piano throughout my entire education. I began teaching in 2010 and currently work as a general elementary music teacher. I play professionally on my free time.
I primarily teach classical, but often bring music from other genres in teaching. I try to include music that the student is interested in. You can learn good technique from your favorite Disney musical or superhero movie as you would with any classical piece!
I am familiar with a variety of method books for flute, violin, and piano. I usually incorporate theory in all lessons.
I also love teaching students how to compose their own music! I am comfortable teaching all ages and have experience teaching beginner to advanced!
