About Choi
Queens Music Academy, founded in 2009, is a comprehensive music school based in Woodside, Queens, NY, with an additional location in Beacon, NY. The academy provides private lessons for children, teens, and adults at all levels across most instruments, including violin, cello, piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, drums, voice, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone. Certified instructors lead a Suzuki Kids Program for ages 3–10 in piano, cello, and violin, complemented by group offerings such as kids rock band, group guitar and keyboard classes, string ensembles, and seasonal camps.
Instruction is tailored to individual goals and can include preparation for performances, auditions, and NYSSMA evaluations (recommended but not required). The school hosts regular recitals and twice-monthly practice group sessions. Students also have access to the Practice Space App for practice tracking and lesson materials.
Additional services include instrument rentals and sales, school programming, and hourly practice and rehearsal room rentals. Recognized by NY1, Time Out Kids NY, and the New York Daily News as one of New York City’s top music schools, Queens Music Academy operates year-round except during holidays and offers lessons seven days a week.
