About Li-San
Students love mastering their pieces in the lesson so that home practice is easy. Li-San has 20 years experience teaching beginner to advanced kids, teens and adults. She ensures that her students understand how to practice efficiently, which makes their progress faster, and piano more fun.
Kids and adults enjoy being able to play the styles of music they choose, and there are opportunities to perform for others. There is also a creative aspect to lessons, as students learn to improvise and compose their own music if they desire, due to a strong understanding of how music works.
I have 20 years of experience teaching kids from age 3 up to adults. I teach beginners, intermediate and advanced level students. I am able to teach all styles of piano music, and not only teach my students how to read sheet music on the staff, but also how to read lead sheets and chord symbols so that they can play popular music, or accompany themselves while singing.
My education and training includes a PhD in Music Education, Graduate Diploma in Music (Classical Performace), and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. I have advanced theory knowledge, and also know how to train students to play by ear if they desire to.
Although I am qualified, experienced, and an accredited teacher, I am continually learning to improve my own skills and knowledge of pedagogy so that I am the best piano teacher that I can be for my students.

We would schedule an intro lesson to get started, see how well we work together, as well as discussing goals of the student and how we would reach them.
I have worked with students of all ages from 3 years and up. Most of my students are school or college age, but I have a lot of adult students who are loving their lessons too.
Do not decide only based on price. Look up the teacher's reputation, study their website, actually go and meet them for a first lesson, and then make a choice based on that. Some teachers will work better with certain personalities of students, and its good to check out the interaction that the teacher has with the student.
