About Crystal

I offer private lessons in classical piano emphasizing accessibility to all levels with a focus on musical expression, technique, and performance. My degrees are in solo piano performance and I have more than 15 years of experience teaching piano.

Seeing a student find their own musical expression at the keyboard and being a part of their musical journey and exploration.

I started teaching while I was in high school as a means of learning more about playing and working in a capacity that directly relates to my field.

About the lesson

I audition students

Mostly students ages 4-25 who are interested in classical training.

Look for a teacher who has the ability to provide recital opportunities as well as programs like certificate of merit; if they are an active performer themselves it brings a lot to the student by example.

I'm very fond of attending classical concerts and I try to go to piano concerts at the Walt Disney Hall in downtown whenever I can.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have a clear idea of what your primary objectives are (for/as the student) and put that in a context of how that fits with your lifestyle. Realistically, many students are looking for a positive experience as well as a high level of instruction, but that can vary greatly according to what other interests, activities, and responsibilities are in the students' life that could potentially compete/conflict with the time and diligence it takes to learn an instrument.
