About Dylan

As a young teacher and performer (16), I can better relate to younger students. I have patience and knowledge, and am the first performer in 12 years to receive the 60 point cup at the National Federation of Music Club's Weber County Piano Festival.

Since I was around the age of 5, piano has been my passion. I love sitting and playing for hours on end, and have a reputation among friends as being the one who will immediately start playing as soon as I see a piano. Piano, and music as a whole, strengthens our soulds and minds, and I plan to pass down my passion to others.

I have been planning on teaching for a few months, and I decided it was finally time to start advertising!

As a young teacher, you may be worried about my abilities (16), but I promise you I am up for the task. I recently became the first person to win the 60 point cup (in twelve years) at the National Federation of Music Clubs local festival, where many students perform. Among my repetoire are included works such as Nocturne no 20 and Etude op 25 no 5 by Chopin, and many sonatas by Mozart.

About the lesson

My first step would be a get to know you, so I can understand you and better teach you. Next, I would begin the process of learning by ear, common with the Suzuki Method (of which I teach), and finally teach you how to read music. We would start with the twinkles and work our way through the first Suzuki book, and work together from there to decide what would be the next best step.

Make sure they know what they are doing. Many teachers just shove music down their student's throats, not paying attention to whether or not its a difficulty they can handle. Additionally, most teachers don't teach dynamics, so find a teacher that does (TL;DR find a suzuki method teacher, such as me)

Recently I participated in my 9th year of Federation Festival, and was the first participant in 12 years to earn the 60 point cup.

Am I playing piano because I truly want to, or because I feel like my parents/someone else wants me to.

For beginners (30 minute lessons), I would charge $15. For intermediate to advanced students (45 minute lessons), I would charge $20
