About Sunny

As a Juilliard BM 2018 and MM 2020 graduate, I'm here to teach my students that music is a sport for both the brain and the body. Learn to play the violin or piano while being conscious of your body so you don't injure yourself in the long run!

I teach not only the instrument, but also performance psychology and the Alexander Technique. You'll learn your instrument while overcoming your nerves (and shaky knees) and improve your posture!

I like that teaching is more than just passing on knowledge. Knowledge is forever changing, and old ideas are constantly challenged. That's what I learned as a Juilliard student, and I intend for my students to challenge me as well. We help each other learn and grow; that's what I enjoy most about teaching.

I've been trained in European playing styles, Suzuki method, and American playing styles. I've learned performance psychology and discussed in-depth with physical therapists during my academic years at Juilliard.

About the lesson

I like to discuss with students and parents on their goals and then tailor a program to fit their needs. I teach students who view music as extra-curricular for their college applcations, to those who are serious in becoming a musician, or those who simply want to learn a new hobby.
What all these have in common: to prevent injury and have fun! Learning a new instrument can help you learn more about yourself both physically and mentally. It's an exercise of the body, mind, and soul!
