My main website is (concealed information)

My music is on itunes,spotify,amazon,youtube,soundcloud,bandcamp,etc.

I cater every lesson to the needs and desires of each student

I started teaching when I was asked to help a friend learn flute when I was in my twenties. I have been teaching ever since. I taught through the NYC Public School system for thirty-five years. Also in after-school programs

I studied music throughout grade school, junior high, high school, and college as well as graduate school. I have performed all types of music. I have taught in many types of settings. I cater to the needs of each student.

About the lesson

I have them play their favorite piece for up to four minutes.

We discuss their past experience playing and what their goals are- as well as how much time they can devote to playing. I ask them what kind of music do they like and want to learn.

I give them a general plan of how we will proceed with room for questions.

We begin to implement the plan with a practice schedule.

The ultimate goal is to learn a piece they feel comfortable performing.

I have worked with all ages from kindergarten to a seventy five year old senior! I have taught many different types of music. I have taught several children in one family.

Talk to the teacher on the phone. Pick a teacher that understands you and what you need. What is your goal? Can the teacher help you reach it? Pick a teacher who you like and feel comfortable talking to.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do you want to do with music? What do you want to gain from lessons? Can you spend time practicing? How much? How important is this instrument and learning it to you.

Suki is an inspiring teacher that encouraged me time after time to go out of my comfort zone and explore my possibilities further than only playing from sheet music.
