About Ronald

I've created a family oriented piano rhythm course along with method of reading note values for pre-school through adult beginning students.

The satisfaction that former students experience after successfully completing my course of study.

I have been teaching for over 50 years with learning on the job as a professional performer, composer, conductor, music transcriber, arranger and orchestrator. My work has been primararily dealing with Classic Soul Artists such as Stylistics, McFadden & Whitehead, Main Ingredient, Jerry Butler, and many other artists from the Rhythm & Blues era.

I have received certification for teaching in the public school system Paterson NJ. I'm licensed as a business in the state of New Jersey. I established independently owned Music studio through the 1980s in Paterson NJ known as Foster's Music Studio.

I received my AA degree in Early Childhood Education.

I've taken music courses at Passaic County Community College, Kean University along with off campus study Felician College.

I've had success with pre-schoolers and adults taking these rhythm focused lessons that can be used with all instruments but primarily keyboard instruments both acoustic and electronic .

Started teaching after discharge from U. S. Navy 1962. I had been playing organ and piano at Paterson New Jersey local churches since childhood. I chose to perform professionally and teach part time traveling at that time to individual houses to teach piano lessons.

Professional on the job training with professional tutors.

Also have Early Childhood Education degree with minor in music.

About the lesson

Establish schedule for the actual teacher/student session via phone or email.

I've worked with young and older beginning students primararily.

I always tell students that the teacher is just what it means and the student is the learner.

The teacher cannot learn for the student. Consistent practice and sufficient time spent on a lesson is necessary in order for the student to progress along at their particular level or aptitude.

I attended a championship Drum & Bugle competitition with teen musicians competing for a national championship trophy. The discipline and practice required by these young musicians is always something that greatly impresses me.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Are they serious or just inquisitive?

What musical goals does student have? Career? Hobby?

Do they have the instrument (adequate keyboard and area to practice without disturbance from other family members or friends).

sufficient monies to cover costs of lessons.
