About Shelly

Fun and innovative private piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities, beginner through advanced.

I have been teaching piano lessons to children and adults for over 20 years and have loved sharing the joy of music with them.

I have earned a Master of Education in Teaching Music and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Bob Jones University.

I enjoy working with students of all ages from beginning to advanced. My goal is to teach your child to enjoy and express themselves through the language of music. I strive to provide a learning environment that is positive and enthusiastic, and one that nurtures and enables a student to develop his God-given gifts and abilities. I use curriculum and materials that are best-suited for your child’s individual needs and personality. My goal is to train students to become competent musicians so that they can enjoy the gift of music for the rest of their lives.

I love sharing the joy of music with my students.

I started teaching while I was a student in high school.

About the lesson

I like to get to know my students and learn what their goals and interests are in learning to play the piano.

I have had the privilege to teach students as young as 3 and as mature as 83.

Look for a teacher who offers auditions, exams, and recitals. These opportunities provide students with motivation, attainable goals, and objective feedback from other professional piano teachers.

I am very fond of my students' performances at the recent recital and annual National Guild Piano Auditions.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What type of instrument do I need?

What other equipment or materials do I need?

How much practice time is recommended each week to make consistent progress?
