I took lessons with Tammy for a few months at UCLA. At the time I knew nothing about piano, but wanted to give it a try. She was quick to assess my learning pace, and tailored weekly lessons that fit my goals. Students will learn that Tammy is patient, kind, and incredibly skilled. The rate she charged was reasonable, and it was one of the best that I could find. As a busy student, it was hard to practice as much as I wanted to, but Tammy worked around that with me. Tammy is an incredible piano teacher. Throughout my life, I have studied piano under six highly qualified piano teachers, and Tammy stands out as the best piano teacher I've ever had. She has a magical way of explaining subtle technique improvements, which allows the proper techniques to sink in and stick. She invents these perfectly fitting and beautiful metaphors that make difficult changes much simpler and easy to accomplish. Another thing about our lessons, is that I feel minimal performance anxiety playing for her. I have felt anxious playing for previous teachers, especially when I haven't practiced enough. But Tammy always makes me feel calm and happy to learn. I have seen the most improvement in my piano while studying under Tammy. She's awesome and don't miss out on a chance to study with her!
