About Daniel
Daniel Thompson is a keyboardist, composer, and educator in the Northern Colorado area. His performances with a number of groups from rock to jazz piano trios have given him an understanding of the full range of keyboard styles, and both his bachelors and masters degrees in Jazz from the University of Northern Colorado have given him the tools to break down complex musical topics into easy to learn steps.
He centers the lessons he teaches on the unique elements of each of his students. No two students are exactly the same, so no two lesson plans are exactly the same.
I fell in love with the piano in middle and high school and it wasn't until college when I realized my love of sharing with I have learned with others.
I have taken classes on topics ranging from general music history through recording techniques and pedagogy. The act of taking these courses has left me with a highly individual and well-developed philosophy on nearly every topic related to music, theory, and the piano.
