About Yvonne

I build my lessons around each individual student, catering to their needs, and where I can help them build their skills. I know that every person is different and I want to ensure that they are learning as they can so they can become the best musician they can be.

For me, helping others to read and understand music deeply is the most rewarding aspect of teaching. I firmly believe that anyone can learn the skills needed to play an instrument with practice and guidance.

About the lesson

Before starting lessons, I need to know a few things:

- the students age

- If the student has any musical experience (it is completely fine if they don't). And if yes, do they already have a set of books they have been working through

- If the student has access to a piano or keyboard to practice

I have experience teaching ages 5 and up. My students are typically kids elementary - middle school age, but I have taught some preschool age kids, high school students, and young adults.

I recommend that a student start lessons at age 5 or 6 (when they can read simple words).
