About Karma
Hi! My name is Karma. I have been teaching students to play the piano since my children were young. I am passionate about the piano & hope to share that enthusiasm with my students. I started showing an interest on my Aunts piano at an early age because my family didn't have one. My parents couldn’t afford to pay for lessons until I turned 10, then I had to practice at my neighbors house until my Aunt & Uncle loaned us theirs (they moved & couldn’t take it with them). We were able to buy one later when my Aunt needed hers back.
My years of teaching experience and taking every opportunity to be educated at teachers conferences, online, reading materials in music theory etc. have been extremely beneficial over the years! I recently learned about teaching piano online through an online teachers course & decided to try it! This is new to me! I’m still learning! I’m old school! But one day perhaps soon I will get it down:). One thing I have learned is it appears that Zoom works better as far as being able to hear the piano on my end.
I ensure that my student learn from a personalized curriculum that brings them closer to their goals. As I mentioned, I’ve been teaching in my home for over 30 years, but I live in a rural community where there aren’t a lot of kids interested in learning piano. I have a few, but I would like a few more:).
