About Fanny
I have a doctorate in piano performance and pedagogy, and I am a nationally certified teacher through MTNA. With over 17 years of teaching experience, I have built up my strength of teaching my students to enjoy playing music. I like to bring different repertoires into my teaching so that my students have wider music knowledge.
Music is unique in its ability to instill sensitivity, patience, confidence, and self-reliance. Children who receive music education tend to become adults who listen first before reacting. As a piano teacher, I want students to learn to be confident and enjoy making music at the piano. By guiding them along the musical journey, I want them to develop patience and sensitivity through consistent and conscious dedication, and I want them to experience the satisfaction of achieving their goals.
I am a passionate teacher who is always eager to explore new ways to enhance my teaching. Every student is unique, and it is my responsibility to help them express their strengths and overcome their challenges. Through exposure to a wide range of different piano literature and genres, I help my students develop an appropriate artistic and stylistic interpretation. Together with technical exercises, aural and theory studies, my students do not just learn to play the piano, they receive comprehensive musical training and become well-rounded musicians under my instruction.
In my piano studio, I host students’ recitals at least twice a year. I encourage students to participate in local music events and international competitions, and piano examinations. I also create different studio challenges every new year to motivate students to set goals and achieve them throughout the year. Such studio activities develop a sense of community that students enjoy, and it helps compensate for the lack of group learning activities. Through all of these activities, I seek to motivate students to keep learning and practicing while encouraging and challenging myself to continue improving and growing as a teacher.
I got started teaching as a parttime job while waiting for the result of public exams and i fell in love into it.

Perfect! Fanny was a wonderful teacher. She teaches to your needs and helps you grow as a student in ways that you prefer. She provides great knowledge from her education/experience in the music field. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a relaxed instructor who still pushes you to improve yourself! Perfect! Ms. Wong has been our teacher for a month. In this time, she has shown herself to be professional, creative, kind, and warm. My two elementary aged children like her a lot and have gained more skill in this brief time than I would have expected. She is very highly recommended.
