About Carla
Hi, my name is Carla Ganyard! I started violin lessons at age 5, piano at age 6, and music theory at age 7. I received a BA in music from North Georgia College & State University, then a MM in violin performance from University of Georgia. I went on to earn a MA in Biblical counseling from Bob Jones University. I have taught music for 24 years, including 3 years at the college level. Teaching music is a passion of mine! I am so grateful for the opportunities I get to serve the Lord in music ministry at my home church, Temple Baptist, and I am particularly interested in equipping young people to become skilled church musicians. I specialize in teaching classical and sacred music. I emphasize the importance of developing excellent form and technique in instrumental training, and I also help students to develop a good working knowledge of foundational music theory concepts. I aim to be a blessing and encouragement to my students musically and personally, and to help them develop the gifts that God has given them. I also believe that valuable skills are attained by faithful and diligent work. Thus, I provide students with accountability for making consistent investments of practice time with their best efforts. I'd be honored for the opportunity to discuss music lessons with you!
