About Aric
Most teachers have a set way in which they approach most of their lessons... I am convinced and stand by my approach of working with the student for the first week or two in asking them exactly what it is they are wanting to learn. Taking piano lessons could be disasterous if the student isn't having fun because they don't enjoy the music... so, I take the time to find out what the student likes, how best they might learn, and then create a plan for them. Music must be enjoyed or we lose the point:)
I enjoy watching my students learn... the "aha" moment and smiles on their faces!
I started taking piano at the age of seven and continued learning from lessons all the way through college with both piano and saxophone. I started playing the saxophone in the 6th grade and started formal lessons in college at the University of Oregon and Lane Community College.
I received my BA in Music Ministry
I received my MA in Worship Arts
I've been teaching for over 20 years

Aric is a wonderful professor. He has a clear vision of and understanding of music and patience to teach. A man who can speak through an instrument and produce wonderful sounds. Aric is a great instructor when it comes to understanding music theory and technique and he will give you a clear and simple answer which makes it easier to comprehend. Highly recommended. A+++++
You couldn’t ask for a more fun and patient teacher!

I discuss all this at first lesson time. NOTE: I do not charge for the first lesson since it is what I call an "audition" for me for parents & student.
