About Elizabeth

I tailor my teaching method to each student and encourage them to grow as musicians and people.

I enjoy sharing my love of music with my students. Even if they don't become professional musicians themselves, music is one of the deepest forms of communication, and anyone and everyone can benefit from playing an instrument. I love seeing my students succeed and enjoy making music!

I've been teaching private music lessons for four years. I graduated this spring with my Master of Music degree in viola performance from The Hartt School, and previously I graduated summa cum laude from Shenandoah Conservatory with a Bachelor of Music degree in viola performance in 2019. There, I tutored music theory for three years. I've also taken multiple pedagogy classes and professional development courses to become the best teacher I can.

About the lesson

I discuss my teaching process with the parent(s) and student, and get to know the student so I can understand how best to teach them. If the student has already taken lessons on their instrument, I start where they are and go from there, and if the student is just beginning, I'll start them on the method that best suits them.
