About Dr Sarah

I recently finished my doctorate in piano performance and collaborative piano at LSU and relocated to the St. Louis area. I am looking to build a studio for students who are beginner through advanced. I have taught private lessons for the past 18 years. Teaching is a passion of mine and I am looking for students who are excited to learn and ready for a commitment!

I began teaching when I was 14 under the guidance of my teacher Sue Knutson. During my undergraduate degree I did a dual major in piano performance and piano pedagogy (the art of teaching). My master and doctorate degrees are in piano performance. I am a member of MTNA, Slamta, and will be joining the local chapter of federation. I have taught private and group lessons for children to adults.

About the lesson

I structure all of my lessons based on the individual student, their needs, age, and goals. I do require all of my students to learn to read music.

I have worked with students from as young as age 4, to college students, and adult students.

Make sure you ask questions regarding the teacher's expectation on practice, performance, and competitions.

During my doctoral degree, I won a concerto competition was honored with the opportunity to solo with the LSU Symphony. I performed the Gerhswin Concerto.

My studio pricing is set up by tuition for each semester. I do a fall, spring, and summer semester and require students to pay either in full for each semester or at the first lesson of the month.
