My son learned a ton. He had been taking music lessons for years but had not really learned to read notes well. Preben saw that right away and went to work. Preben is extremely talented and a perfectionist, which sometimes was hard for
my son, who felt he didn’t quite understand the nuances of what Preben was seeking to teach. We stopped lessons recently because it was too hard to continue when my son started high school, and he had lost the desire to put in time to practice/improve. Preben came to our home for lessons, which was very important to us given the over scheduled life. My favorite moments as a parent was listening to the lesson as I prepared dinner.

Preben has been teaching my two children for the past three years. In that time, they have graduated through several books, with a clear and broad sense of effective musical phrasing. His humor, focus, and enthusiasm set an atmosphere to spark the artistic imagination.
