About John

John Gilmore is a professional pianist, organist, composer, arranger, music director and accompanist.

John has been performing and teaching music in the Burbank area for the past 25 years. He currently teaches chorus at Emerson elementary school, and assists many music programs in the Burbank and Glendale school districts.

Many of Mr. Gilmore’s students are now studying music in college and working professionally.

I had worked exclusively as a professional musician until my daughter was born. Her inspiration and the gifts that had been shared to me by teachers while growing up, led me to share my talents with others. There is no greater joy than to be able to share the gift of music with interested students

I studied music education at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music.

I studied film scoring at UCLA.

I have been a professional musician for 35 years.

About the lesson

I work with students based on their ability and cater to their specific goals. We progress through methods and styles that the student requests.

I have worked with students from age 3 - adults.

I have taught music at pre-school, elementary, middle school, high school and college levels

Explore your creativity and passion.

I recently supported an Education Through Music event (ETM-LA) etmla.org, in which local high school students produced and performed a garden music soirée at a historical location to showcase their talents and raise funds for the organization.
