John is incredibly patient and knowledgeable. I took lessons with him for several years in Brooklyn until I moved, and worked with him on several complicated pieces by Liszt, Schubert, Beethoven and Bartok, among others. His positive can-do attitude and approach to teaching just opens the door wide to learning this skill and get better at it -- from any level. His knowledge is extensive and his patience (especially in helping me find the appropriate fingering to some of those tricky and other passages), endless. The positive way he teaches makes learning an absolute joy. He shares his love for music in a way that you want to get better and get it right -- and he provides the tools and insight with which you can. An awesome teacher and I highly recommend him for any skill level.
