About Yesenia
Dear music lovers,
One of the things that I value is the art of making music which is why I take time to acknowledge the diverse musical background of my students. Whether you are 5 years old or you've rotated the sun more than 100 times, music can be enjoyed both by hearing and playing. I believe that no student is the same and therefore no lesson is the same. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any question.
Play On! :D
I really like to help my student experience the joy of playing music.
I was in my last year at community college and was recommended for a student teacher position by one of my instructors. I absolutely love the fact that I can see people grow in their appreciation for music. I am observing now as many of my student move towards advance repertoire and they are still enjoying the practicing time at home. But above all, I love the fact that my students enjoy the music!

The students are assessed based on their ability to read sheet music, holding instrument and accessory parts correctly, rhythm dictation, lyrical recognition of intervals, ear training, the reason for taking violin lessons, and their goal(s) with music.
Once the student has been placed at the proper level, lessons begin. Several music methods are used including, essential elements for violin, Suzuki books, scale methods and more.
I believe that. . .
. . . learning music is an experience that is not the same for everyone, it is unique. I keep a general structure to my lessons, but I shape my lessons to fit each student's need and personality. :)
I have worked with student as young as 5 years old through 70 years of age. I find that it's is necessary to have the lessons accommodate the student's need
Take time to practice and you'll see the results. Believe me,its not magic, it's a work of art in progress. And in the words Itzhak Perlman, "practice slow, very slow!"
I just made my first video that should be ready to post on YouTube in August.

Perfect! Yesenia is awesome! She explains things very well, and she is patient. I look forward to my lessons each week. I really feel that she pulls the potential out of me and challenges me to do more than I think I can. I will take lessons from her as long as I possibly can.
